The Setting<\/strong>
Disney definitely raised the bar for immersive experiences with Galaxy’s Edge and a standout example of that is Oga’s Cantina. The restaurant’s non-descript exterior hides one of the most immersive areas of the park. No lie – as soon as we walked in the door I nerded out hard core. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oga’s Cantina is a smaller space with low lighting, loud music from droid DJ R-3X and is always packed. So it’s got a medium to high energy buzz level. The centerpiece is definitely the large, circular bar where bartenders mix up fantastical cocktails from around the galaxy. The rest of the space is filled with high-top tables and a very small number of booths. The tables fit 6-8 guests and no matter what your party size is, your table will be full. They seat groups hibachi restaurant style, so be prepared to make friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can not say enough about the theming here. It’s like walking onto the set of a Star Wars<\/em> movie.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s important to note that while you can book an advanced reservation, currently you can not guarantee a booth seat or a spot at the bar. This is first come first served experienced but you are free to wander around and explore while you are there. Also, reservations are limited to 45 minutes per party. They are pretty strict about this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Menu
<\/strong>Oga’s menu features both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options and they are all fun visual and flavor experiences. Oga’s food menu is limited to just two options: Batuu Bits and the Happabore Sampler. On our visit, we enjoyed the Bespin Fizz, Jedi Mind Trick, T-16 Skyhopper, and the infamous Fuzzy Tauntaun. We ordered the Happabore Sampler which is essentially a charcuterie board. The drinks were all fun and delicious but we weren’t very impressed with the food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, the Fuzzy Tauntaun does in fact make your lips go numb<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There is a maximum of 2 drinks per Guest. However, as we were paying our tab, our server heard us talking about the drinks we would try next time and told us we could do to-go cups. This was both an amazing and terrible suggestion as we shortly found ourselves sobering up on a giant lego somewhere on the path between Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Storyland. They are definitely not watering them down at Oga\u2019s, so plan accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Takeaway
<\/strong>You are 100% here for alcohol and atmosphere. Don’t plan on this as a meal or a snack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This may not be the best place to go with little ones, no matter how much they love star wars. The kid friendly drink options are very limited and so are the snacks. Pair that with the fact that they will probably have to stand the entire time at a table taller than them and it seems like a recipe for a classic Disney park meltdown. They\u2019ll get just as much Star Wars atmosphere at Docking Bay 7 and the entire family can relax and enjoy themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However if you\u2019re a teenage or 21+ Star Wars fan, it\u2019s definitely worth the experience. Pro Tip: Try to build your lightsaber after visiting Oga’s because there’s not really a good place to stash it where it won’t get stepped on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Star Wars fan should visit Galaxy’s Edge and not visit Oga’s Cantina. It’s still an incredibly popular place so reservations are hard to come by. But as usual, we can help with that! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
